Catholic Justice Partners

The Africa Faith and Justice Network (AFJN) strives to be a meaningful voice for Africa in U.S. public policy. AFJN stresses issues of human rights and social justice that tie directly into Catholic social teaching. AFJN works closely with Catholic missionary congregations and numerous Africa-focused coalitions of all persuasions to advocate for USA economic and political policies that will benefit Africa's poor majority, facilitate an end to armed conflict, establish equitable trade and investment with Africa and promote ecologically sound development.

Call To Action USA is an independent national organization of over 20,000 people and 40 local organizations who believe the Spirit of God is at work in the whole church, not just in its appointed leaders. "We believe the entire Catholic church has the obligation of responding to the needs of the world and taking initiative in programs of peace and justice."

Catholic Campaign for Human Development is the domestic anti-poverty, social justice program of the U.S. Catholic bishops. Its mission is to address the root causes of poverty in America through promotion and support of community-controlled, self-help organizations and through transformative education.

Catholic Charities, U.S.A. is the largest private network of social service organizations in the United States. They work to support families, reduce poverty, and build communities.

Catholic Health Association - Under CHA's leadership, leaders from the U.S. Catholic community have launched an advertising and grassroots campaign to urge the President and Congress to restore Medicare, Medicaid, and other human services funding vital to maintaining high-quality health services in this country.

Center for Healthcare Reform - is a catalyst and partner with others in advocating for a just national healthcare system. Their Web site provides valuable resources and community action suggestions, including information about The Prayer Tent for Children’s Health Care. Invite your faith community to reflect, pray and act for justice for children. Join others in addressing the needs of the more than nine million children without health insurance. Designed as a six-week program, the prayer tent and bulletin inserts create a space where family and friends can reflect on and discuss the need for a healthcare system that serves all our nation’s children.

The Center of Concern works with international networks promoting social analysis, theological reflection, policy analysis, political advocacy, research and public education on issues of global development, peace and social justice.

The Dorothy Day Center is part of the parish social ministry program of St. Charles Borromeo Catholic Church in Oklahoma City. They have a food pantry and an organic, urban community garden that provides fresh fruit, nuts and vegetables for the food pantry or anyone else who would like to partake of the harvest. Their Web site includes information about Catholic social teachings and Dorothy Day.   

Leadership Conference of Women Religious (LCWR) is a canonically approved membership organization which exists as a support system and corporate voice for leaders of institutes of women religious (Catholic sisters) in the United States.
