- Sr. Simone Campbell was asked by Rep. Reid Ribble (WI-8) about why churches need help from government to address poverty. Sr. Simone cited a fact sheet from Bread for the World  that showed every congregation in the United States would have to raise $50,000 to make up for cuts to the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP) proposed in the 2012 Republican budget.
