Take Action: Call your Senators!
The Senate will vote soon on the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE Act, S.128). The bill’s title is deceptive as millions of eligible Americans–Indigenous people, newly married women, un-housed persons, and more–would be prevented from voting due to draconian documentation requirements. Friends, the SAVE Act will contribute to the unraveling of our democracy. The Senate needs to hear from you!
Will you call today?
NETWORK adamantly opposes the SAVE ACT and urges Senators to vote ‘no’ on this partisan bill that recently passed the House.
S.128 is a measure to mandate proof of citizenship for voter registration, enact harsh voter suppression laws nationwide, and perpetuate the debunked myth of widespread non-citizen voting. Current federal laws already prohibit non-citizens from voting in federal elections, making this legislation unnecessary and harmful. At a time when strengthening trust in democracy is vital, S.128 fosters division and distrust in our communities.

ACT NOW! Call 1-888-422-4555 to reach your Senators and tell them: Don’t pass the SAVE Act
Here’s what you might say on your call: “Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME] from [YOUR TOWN]. I’m calling to let [REPRESENTATIVE __] know that I oppose the Safeguarding American Voter Eligibility Act (SAVE Act, S.128) because millions of eligible Americans–Indigenous people, newly married women, un-housed persons, and more–would be prevented from voting due to draconian documentation requirements. As a NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice advocate, I’m concerned the SAVE Act would disrupt mail and online voter registration systems and threaten election workers–doing their civic duty–with severe penalties. Congress must work on policies that enrich our communities, assist voters, and support democracy. Will [SENATOR __] vote against the SAVE Act (S.128)? |
More information for your calls to the House
- The SAVE Act undermines the citizenship of immigrants and communities of color, creating barriers for all eligible voters, especially marginalized groups.
- The SAVE Act would burden tribal, state, and local election officials, diverting resources from crucial election security efforts.
- The SAVE Act would disrupt mail and online voter registration systems, enforce flawed voter purges, and threaten election workers with severe penalties.

Take Action: Call the House!
The Republican-majority House is expected to vote soon for cuts to Medicaid and SNAP so they have tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy, and to pay for immigrant detentions and deportations. Spirit-filled justice-seekers, the fight over the budget is only beginning. NOW is the time for Members of Congress to hear budget priorities from you.
The NETWORK community has influence!
Call your Representative today and tell them to reject a budget reconciliation package that cuts Medicaid and SNAP in order to give tax breaks to the ultra-wealthy, and to pay for immigrant detentions and deportations.

ACT NOW! Call 1-888-897-9753 to reach the House and tell your Member of Congress: Don’t fund billionaire tax cuts with money from our country’s safety net!
Here’s what you might say on your call: “Hello, my name is [YOUR NAME] from [YOUR TOWN]. I want to let [REPRESENTATIVE __] know that I oppose any cuts to funds for vital human needs programs that millions of Americans rely on. It is immoral to take money from life-affirming programs, like SNAP, which keeps babies fed, to free up hundreds of billions of dollars for immigrant detention, deportation and family separation efforts; and tax cuts for wealthy billionaires. As a NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice advocate, I believe Congress must support and fully fund Medicaid so that all of us, regardless of income, have access to medical care–like pre-natal check-ups and diabetes medication–that keeps us healthy and alive. Will [REPRESENTATIVE __] work with their colleagues during Reconciliation to pass a budget that preserves America’s time-honored safety net? |
More information for your calls
- More than 70 million people rely on Medicaid health coverage for pre-natal visits, pediatric health care, geriatric health care, and more; and 40 million people put food on the table through the Supplemental Nutrition Assistance Program (SNAP).
- Yet, the proposed Republican budget sets up a process that may bring back soup lines and will literally shorten people’s lives if cuts to these programs are made.
Because social support organizations lack the funds to compensate for a substantial reduction in federal financial support, Congress should use our shared budget to make sure that SNAP, Medicaid, and other programs flourish.

Take Action: Call the House!
The relentless attacks by the Trump-Vance Administration on working families and people in our communities–as well as attempts to dismantle the very fabric of our democracy by unelected billionaire Elon Musk, demands a response from NETWORK.
Tell Friends & Family: Call the House!
Will you call your Member of Congress and tell them to oppose the illegal and cruel actions by Elon Musk–an unelected private citizen, who violates protections in our Constitution, Catholic social justice teaching, religious freedom, and the dignity of the human person? Will you tell friends and family to call also?

ACT NOW! Call 1-888-738-3058 to reach your member of Congress and tell them: Stop President Trump’s and Elon Musk’s Cruel Policies
See suggestions below for what to think about before you call a Republican or Democratic Representative.
Here’s what to consider when your Member of Congress is a Republican: Republicans in Congress are enabling the Trump-Vance administration’s efforts to slash critical programs, attack basic rights, and hand over control of government spending to billionaire ally Elon Musk. Demand they stop enabling these attacks and pass a responsible budget that protects working people—not billionaires.
|
Here’s what to consider when your Member of Congress is a Democrat: They must use their power to protect families. House Democrats can block any budget deal that enables the Trump-Vance Administration to cut programs that protect working families and vulnerable communities.
