WASHINGTON– Ronnate Asirwatham, a leading faith-based advocate for immigration rights and the empowerment of asylum-seekers and refugees, has been recognized once again as one of Washingtonian Magazine’s “Washington’s Most Influential People of 2024.” This honor marks the third consecutive year that Asirwatham, NETWORK’s Government Relations Director, has been celebrated for her unwavering commitment to creating a more inclusive and welcoming country for all.
Mary J. Novak, NETWORK Executive Director, said, “Ronnate’s consistent and strategic leadership in federal immigration advocacy and lobbying is a beacon of hope during a time when the right to seek refuge and safety in the United States is being demonized and attacked. Her influence was made clear this past September when she mobilized over 7,000 Catholics to sign a letter to Congress urging them to invest in programs of hospitality for migrants, rather than criminalization.”
