Don is the editor of Connection magazine and a member of the NETWORK Communications team. He brings experience working in church communications and publishing at the diocesan and national levels. His work has appeared in U.S. Catholic, NCR, CNS, America, Millennial Journal, OSV, and Cross Roads (Catholic Diocese of Lexington). Working in the media relations office of USCCB from 2008-2016, he staffed the U.S. delegation to the 2013 conclave and helped coordinate Pope Francis’ 2015 visit to the United States. Through all of his work, he has sought to make the Catholic Church more accessible to outsiders and more merciful overall. Where he finds inspiration for work: The beauty of a faith that tells us every person is deeply loved and deserves to live with dignity. Joyful models of service to others, past and present, including Pope John XXIII, Cardinal Joseph Bernardin, and Sister Mary Ann Walsh, RSM. What he loves outside of NETWORK: Watching movies and listening to music. Time spent with family and friends. Writing. Originally from: Fort Wayne, Indiana What he loves about DC: It’s a hub of so much history, culture and the longstanding, though sorely tested belief that the halls of power can be a place where those who strive for justice can make a difference.
