Grassroots Mobilzation Associate
Charlotte recently graduated from Fordham University with a Bachelors in African & African American Studies and Theology. For her senior thesis, she discussed Liberation Theology and explored its role in modern-day Ghanaian Evangelical Christianity. Prior to NETWORK, Charlotte served as a student leader on campus bringing awareness to issues affecting students of color and commuters and also worked as an Urban Plunge Assistant who introduced incoming first-year students to community service and social justice. Outside of campus, she served as a grant writer for a community organization and a research assistant for The Bronx African American History Project — an oral history project dedicated to uncovering the cultural, political, economic and religious histories of the more than 500,000 people of African descent in the Bronx. Shortly after graduation, Charlotte led a Global Outreach project to New Orleans where her team learned about the various environmental and social injustices plaguing the city post-hurricane Katrina.
Where do you find inspiration for your work?
-My community
-Knowing that there is work to be done and wanting to be part of the solution
What do you love outside of work?
-Shopping
-Finding new places to eat
-Walking the scenic route (I love taking pictures of nature and things around me)
