Watch: Restoring Asylum & Dignity for Immigrants
The Restoring Asylum and Dignity for Immigrants webinar makes it clear — our country needs a well-funded, law-abiding asylum process that respects people seeking a new life in the U.S. All immigrants deserve dignity — no exceptions! Catholic justice-seekers*, we are collecting 10,000 signatures to let Congress know that NOW is time to invest in better, equitable immigration policy.
*NETWORK is offering another immigration justice action — in addition to the sign-on letter — for all justice-seekers. With one click, you will be taken to a letter that you can personalize, or just send, immediately. Click here to send an email to your Member of Congress.
Funding is imperative for new asylum seekers.
When will the Catholic Church follow Jesus’ teachings? Look to Popel Francis as an example………welcoming the stranger, feeding the poor, Constance La Sala
This funding is crucial to the health, well-being and dignity of our brothers and sisters.
Unless we are Native American, we ALL came from another country! And there is room for everyone! Many schools are empty; in Cleveland, Ohio there are more than 130,000 vacant houses and/or store fronts. There is room in Cleveland, Ohio!!!
Follow Jesus’ teachings – Welcoming the stranger, Feeding the poor, Sheltering the homeless, Clothing those in need.
Welcoming the stranger, Feeding the poor, Sheltering the homeless, Clothing those in need.
We must take action to restore and protect asylum.
We need an immigration policy that recognizes the humanity of all.
Please protect our vulnerable sisters and brothers!!!
We are all immigrants, directly or indirectly; so let’s do what is correct, kind, reasonable, sensible and what Jesus would do.
In St. Francis’ 1221 Canticle of the Creatures, he personifies all that surrounds us, Brother Sun, Sister Moon…as Thomas Berry’s maxim of “treating all that surrounds us as a communion of subjects rather than a collection of objects”. When this paradigm shifts in the hearts, minds, and actions of our brothers and sisters, so will the flourishing of our world.
I have personally seen the pain and desperation on the faces of mothers who are trying to provide a safe life for their children. We do not have the right to say no to them – they are our suffering brothers and sisters. Jesus said we will be judged on the last day: “as long as you did it for the least of my brothers [and sisters] you do it for me. Other than the native people, we are ALL IMMIGRANTS!
We have waited to long, immigration reform NOW!
Immigration reform and implement are crucial.
Vote accordingly ! Catholic hierarchy must speak
out in support of political leaders who will defend
the rights of the immigrant and the poor.
It is a privilege to be called to welcome the stranger, feed the hungry, shelter the homeless, comfort those suffering and sorrowful. They are the beloved of the earth and the
beloved of God.
