Tips for Submitting a Good Comment

Comments don’t need to be long, or technically detailed. The most important thing you can do is share your personal/professional experience, and how you would be affected by the proposed rule. If you do have a professional credential (faith leader, physician, social worker, etc.), be sure to include that. “Form” comments will not be taken as seriously, so please use the framework below to make your comment uniquely yours, or write your own!

How to Submit your Comment

  1. Visit the Regulations.Gov website for the proposed rule change.
  2. Enter your comment in the comment box. You can copy and paste our template  – but don’t forget to make it your own! You can also upload your comment as a Word Document or PDF.
  3. Enter your contact information, press continue, and follow the on-screen instructions to submit.

As a person of faith, I oppose the proposed rule CMS-9924-P, regarding short-term, limited-duration insurance plans. Our faith teaches us to care for the most vulnerable, and the adoption of the proposed rule would undermine the marketplace and leave many people without insurance. I am gravely concerned about the ability of insurance companies to again discriminate against people with pre-existing conditions.
