Catholic Lobby Celebrates Inflation Reduction Act House Passage
Joan F. Neal: “This vote is the result of more than a year of hard work and demonstrates Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats’ dedication to passing policies that support American families and make our tax code more just.”
WASHINGTON, DC – Today, House Democrats voted to join the Senate in passing the Inflation Reduction Act of 2022. Over the past year and a half, the Catholic Sisters and advocates of NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice called for the transformative policies included in this package, making thousands of calls and sending hundreds of emails to their elected officials.
Joan F. Neal, Deputy Executive Director and Chief Equity Officer, NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice, said:
“The NETWORK community congratulates House Democratic Leadership on today’s successful vote. This vote is the result of more than a year of hard work and demonstrates Speaker Pelosi and House Democrats’ dedication to passing policies that support American families and make our tax code more just.
“While this bill does not include all of our policy priorities, it renews our faith in the ability of our federal government to pass policies that improve peoples’ lives. We celebrate the House passing this historic legislation that will move us closer to climate, tax, and health justice and look forward to when President Biden signs it into law.”
