NETWORK Lobby Welcomes Sister Erin Zubal, OSU as First Chief of Staff
Sister Erin Zubal: “My faith deeply inspires my work for racial, economic, and social justice.”

WASHINGTON, D.C. – NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice is pleased to announce Sister Erin Zubal, OSU as its first Chief of Staff. Sister Erin previously participated in NETWORK’s “Nuns on the Bus” campaigns and served as Co-Chair of the NETWORK Board of Directors.

“We are pleased to welcome Sister Erin Zubal to the NETWORK leadership team. Sister Erin truly understands the importance of centering the lived experiences of marginalized communities in our advocacy for systemic change and racially just federal policies,” said NETWORK Executive Director Mary J. Novak and Deputy Executive Director Joan F. Neal. “As NETWORK enters its 50th year, Sister Erin brings her powerful commitment to Catholic Social Justice to our work to Build Anew.”

“As a social worker and educator, I encountered the lived realities of families in my community, experiencing the ways public policy fails to meet their needs and advance the common good,” said Sister Erin Zubal, OSU. “My faith deeply inspires my work for racial, economic, and social justice. I look forward to serving the faith-filled and passionate NETWORK community in this new role.”

Sister Erin Zubal holds a Masters in Social Work Administration with a concentration in public policy and community development from Case Western Reserve University and a Masters in Educational Administration from Ursuline College. Sister Erin served for 15 years as a social worker and educator in Catholic elementary and high schools in the Diocese of Cleveland. She joins four other Catholic Sisters currently on staff at NETWORK.

“We know that Sister Erin’s varied leadership experiences as educator, administrator, and social worker will continue to serve NETWORK, our Church, and our country,” said Sister Ritamary Welsh, President of the Ursuline Sisters of Cleveland. “Serving on the Board of NETWORK and participating in Nuns on the Bus have prepared her well for her new position.  We look forward to Sister Erin’s tenure as NETWORK’s Chief of Staff and the growth we trust it will bring to our congregation.”
