Catholic Lobby Supports Impeachment of President Trump
Sr. Simone: “NETWORK supports impeachment and urges all to come together to rescue our nation.

WASHINGTON, D.C. – NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice does not want to fuel the partisan division that threatens our nation. We at NETWORK are saddened to be at this juncture, but our faith and patriotism compels us to speak.

President Trump put his political ambition above the law. His actions violate Title 52 Sec. 30121 of the US Code. Additionally, in order to hide his crimes, the President refused to cooperate with Congress’s lawful impeachment investigation. This is a direct attack on our democracy and every value we hold dear. Our Constitution is undermined by such callous disregard.

We cannot stay silent. NETWORK supports the impeachment of President Trump.  We urge the Senate to do its constitutional duty and conduct a full and open hearing of all of the evidence.

Sister Simone Campbell, SSS, Executive Director of NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice said:

“This constitutional crisis is also a spiritual crisis. Our democracy is in tatters, and the people are divided. The evidence is clear that the President broke the law when he sought the Ukrainian President’s support for his presidential campaign. This violates the law. The remedy for such criminal action is impeachment. But this impeachment is also a moral action to reclaim our national integrity. NETWORK supports impeachment and urges all to come together to rescue our nation. This is a faithful, patriotic way forward.”
