WASHINGTON, D.C. –In advance of Dr. Ben Carson’s confirmation hearing for Secretary of Housing & Urban Development,  Sister Simone Campbell, SSS, Executive Director of NETWORK Lobby for Catholic Social Justice and leader of Nuns on the Bus issued the following statement:

“In order to mend the gaps in income and wealth, there needs to be more housing for low- and moderate-income people. Ben Carson has no experience in either administration or housing. We’re going to be carefully listening to his responses tomorrow, but I am gravely concerned that the nomination of Ben Carson as HUD secretary is proof that President-elect Trump does not take this cabinet position seriously.”
